Let us beware of rebellion against the Lord. Circumstances are of His choosing, because He wants to bless us, to lead us (even through the wilderness) out of Egypt, that is, out of ourselves.
Settle the complaint with God; and it will settle other things.

All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
All to Jesus, I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
As I sang these words in church this morning I found myself considering…
Is this really true? Do I really mean this? Do I really live this? Because saying it because it's a beautiful thing to say means nothing if my life doesn't reflect it. Like saying I love you to someone and then treating them without any amount of regard, care or affection.
Do I really surrender all?
Something to think about.

Contentment isn't a state of organization, a weight on the scale, a state of better: better kids, better marriage, better health, better house. Contentment is never a matter of circumstances; contentment is always a state of communion — a daily embracing of God. A thankfulness for all gifts — and moments and life, just as He gives it. Trying harder may only bring harder trials and contentment, it won't be found in the resolutions, but in the revolutions — in the turning round to God.
