“the fake fine”

September 14, 2011

Hiding behind fine in the midst of God and everyone is insulting to the cosmic swing God set into motion. So often I feel embarrassed or guilty over my humanness, but our emotions and experiences are all a part of that swing. They add color and dimension and life. We try to hide them behind one-dimensional masks because we believe they indicate weakness or we consider them to simply be too much trouble to dissect. Trying not to experience the whole spectrum of emotions is like trying to be inhuman.
…To embrace the color and fullness of our emotional un-fine state is to open wide enough to receive compassion and grace. Only then will we be able to offer that same compassion and grace to others in honest and authentic ways.

~~~~~
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
2 Corinthians 1: 3-4
Tell Me…
January 29, 2010
Wondering what’s new with you?
1)What’s the most exciting thing you’ve done in January 2010?
2)What food can you not get enough of right now?
3)What have you been reading?
4)What have you been watching?
5)Tell me something I don’t know about you.
Here’s my answers:
1)The most exciting thing I did in January was have my husband home for six days out of a week thanks to a holiday plus a big storm that resulted in snow days. :)
2)I’ve discovered that I really love guacamole.  I always thought I hated it, but I don’t.  I could eat a LOT of eat it if I’m not careful.
3)I have been reading Spurgeon’s Daily Treasury from the Psalms.  I don’t love all of it, but most of it is really good.
4)I’ve been watching Signing Time DVD’s with my girls.  I’m in love. They are so awesome!  I wish I was rich so I could buy them all.  But I’m so excited that the library has several of them.
5)Something you don’t know about me is…I was in a clogging competition at Knott’s Berry Farm when I was twelve.  We were very cool ;)
Your turn!
Tell Me Tuesday
January 5, 2010
I’ve gotten into the habit lately of running some kind of questions/fill in the blank type of posts on Tuesdays.  It’s been fun getting to know my readers (those of you who actually respond…) better. :)
So you count on lots more opportunities in the future to let your voice be heard.
Here’s what’s new with me…
I revamped my cleaning schedule, kind of because it needed some tweaking, mostly because Hombre had a change in his work schedule so I wanted to plan better around that.
I’m really excited about the new plan, and I’ve decided that the best way to lure yourself to follow the schedule is to make it so pretty you can’t help looking at it every day.
Here’s my dilema.
I feel like keeping the house clean should be a priority.  It makes everyone more comfortable, and elminates a lot of unnecessary stress because things are where they belong, etc.
Anyway, in order to keep the house “comfortably clean” I feel like I have to be doing housework all the time.  And I don’t want to be one of those crazy people anymore.  But everytime I try to let it go a little, it snowballs completely out of control and we’re all stuck in a messy pit of despair!  I know I should be able to prioritize and minimze the amount of time it takes, and I thought I had, but apparently not well enough.
So…tell me, what do you consider to be essential and non-essential when it comes to a clean house?  How often do your sheets get changed and your floors get mopped?  I’m really looking for help here, so tell me as much as you want to share.  I’m eagerly waiting to hear from you…
