We pulled all the music instruments in the house out last night. Let the girls go wild with their own "musical" creations.
It was a lot of fun.
Tonight, as I started clearing the dinner dishes, everyone drifted back to the instruments that were still scattered around the living room.
Within a few minutes, real music was drifting in to accompany me in my clean up.
It helps to have a dad who's spent more than a decade of his life leading people in worship.
The guitar, the glockenspiel and the piano joined in slightly rough, but beautiful melody. With a random drum beat from the youngest girl thrown in here and there.
It was beautiful.
Like a dream.
The most striking parts of life have a tendency to feel so unreal. It's strange.
I found myself wanting to somehow capture the moment. Save it forever, so I could always come back and soak in the beauty of it.
But I knew I couldn't really.
Life is real. And fleeting. And the amazing beauty of a moment is ours for a breath and then gone forever.
I've been waiting since October for the new and final album release from the David Crowder Band.
Well, it's here, and I love it and I think you would to! I have to admit there was an extra-special thrill when I saw the album title. Because of course I have a soft spot for the beauty of rest.
