That Guy

March 23, 2010

Pretty much any time I’ve left my camera lying around for long, I am guaranteed to find something like this the next time I upload pictures.

My first response is usually “Oh brother! He’s been playing with the camera again.”   There’s usually four or five shots, all subtly different as he plays with the technical aspects of my camera I have no time or energy to learn.

But why do I always blow it off when I see one of these pictures of him?

That goofy guy playing with my camera.

Tonight I stopped and thought…

That goofy guy…

The one who works so hard at a job that can drive him crazy, so I can stay home with our girls.

The one who plays Candyland with my girls so I can finish the sewing projects I’ve been dying to work on.

The one who just smiles and laughs when he walks in after a long day at work and has to step over pile after pile of clothes, toys and whatever random junk has been strewn across the living room by three little wild ones.

The one who is faithful to stay awake long after me because he knows how hard it is for me to fall asleep when everything is quiet.

The one who prays when I don’t have the words.

The one who tries so hard to make my little world perfect.

That guy.  He’s pretty amazing.

For Today… March 22, 2010

Outside my window… adorable tiny purple flowers all over my yard….that will take over like a dreaded disease and become the most outragous weeds in a matter of days.  I’ve got to get busy out there.

I am thinking… that life would be so much simpler if I could just resolve to not analyze any of it.

From the learning rooms… the learning room is in a state of unbelievable disarray right now.  In the middle of project mode in there…hopefully pictures of the finished results will be coming soon.  In the meantime the girls are bonding with nature and honing their play-doh skills.  Enjoy your summer vacation.  We’ll be busy finishing up all of the schoolwork that was neglected in March. :)

I’m thankful for… strong hands to do the day’s work.

From the kitchen… my tweaked version of PW’s Creamy Chicken Soup.  My version: I use chicken broth instead of bouillon cubes, I leave out the dye, also leave out the celery, and I replace the pimentos with bell peppers because pimentos make me gag.  The peppers give the soup a really yummy flavor.

I am wearing… paint.  Lots of it.  And I refuse to shower until the morning because I’m tired.  Think what you will. :)

I am reading… I read this with Miss E this afternoon….SO adorable.   I highly recommend it!

I am creating… doll nightgowns.  We’ll see how it goes.

I am hearing… the Suns.  As in basketball.  No, I’m not the one that turned it on. :)

Around the house… time for some Spring decorating!  Maybe tomorrow.

A few plans for the rest of the week… just taking it easy.  Hopefully enjoying some warm weather.

Or leave me a note in the comments… I’d love to hear about your day :)
