Yesterday…

after a big day for the birthday girl she crawled into my lap to nurse and then fell into a sound sleep.
Today…

there was a brief point in the day when she was feeling a bit sad and asked to sit in my lap until she was done crying.
My big hope is that no matter how many years pass, she will always know that my arms are a place of comfort.
Eight things that I love about her right now are:
- How much she loves studying the United States.
- The way we can sit together and not talk but still feel so connected.
- That she is starting to have an opinion about how her hair is styled and what clothes she wears.
- That her heart is so tender when she knows she’s done something wrong.
- That she’s starting to love reading as much as I do.
- That she wants to be friends with everyone.
- How much she wants to remind me “God is taking care of us!”.
- That she promises me I’ll always be her best friend.
The depths of my love for her are overwhelming. Every day with her is a precious gift.
Thank you Jesus for my sweet birthday girl!

She is so sweet! I can’t believe that she is already eight years old and what a beautiful young lady she is growing into
