Little things…

  • guacamole to go with my cheese crisp.
  • all of the laundry is washed and dried and almost all put away.
  • time spent with my oldest friend and her babies.
  • the joy in Miss E’s voice when she finally manages to write the letter G correctly.
  • bright, beautiful sunshine all day long.
  • to-do’s crossed off the list.
  • a productive week of school at home.
  • pictures to capture all of the moments that are here and then gone forever.
  • a husband who could absolutely not be more different than me…but he loves Jesus so much it just all works out.
  • when I asked Miss A if she finished reading the biography about Samuel F. B. Morse and she looked at me in complete seriousness and said “Oh, you mean Samuel Finley Breese Morse?”  Apparently she read it.
  • the most wonderful two year old voice in the world saying “My love you too mommy!  My love you so SO much!

A good day. :)

Warming Up

February 23, 2010

After two days in the dark, today we had to get outside and enjoy the sweet sunshine.

I used to let the mud hold us hostage in the house for several days after a storm. But not anymore.  I’ve chosen to embrace the fact that children are washable.  :)

Tuesday Morning

For Today… February 23, 2010

Outside my window… after two days of rain, snow and dark, I woke up to a beautiful blue sky and blinding sunshine.

I am thinking… sickness in children can be so confusing.  Is she really sick?  Is it just something she ate or too much water on an empty stomach???? No way to be sure.

From the learning rooms… adding some fun extras this week, like sewing, dance and I’m  not sure what else yet. Oh yes!  Dance mat typing is a new fave.

I’m thankful for… the gift of sight.   How often do I take that one for granted?

From the kitchen… experimented with my granola yesterday…recipe coming soon.

I am wearing…

I am reading… mail.  Definitely not exciting.

I am creating… gifts for a little friend’s birthday this weekend.

I am hearing… good old Caillou.  I always think at some point they will get tired of him, but so far they’re still enamored.

Around the house… MAJOR de-cluttering frenzy.  Watch out!  The house may be nothing but an empty box by the time I finish. ;)

A few plans for the rest of the week… I guess that will depend on the outcome of the mystery illness today.  Hopefully Show & Tell on Friday.  And church tomorrow night.  Spent last night hanging out with my oldest friend and her one month old.  I even put the baby to sleep because I’m just good like that. :)
