Monday Night

For Today… January 11, 2010
Outside my window… cold wintery nights, but warm sunny days. I know it can’t last forever, but I really love it.
I am thinking… about the quote that inspired my blog title…and the most amazing ordinary day I had today. Nothing unusual or overly exciting, just normal and quiet, but so wonderful. I can’t even remember the last time I had one of those kind of days.
From the learning rooms… lots of fun reading and winter crafts. Still trying to figure out the perfect system for occupying/instructing all three girls at once…it’s a little tricky.
I’m thankful for… memories. That even when amazing moments are passed, you can still hold onto them and enjoy them.
From the kitchen… apparently, not having the pressure of putting dinner on the table completely alleviates my disdain for evening cooking. We had homemade pizza, breadsticks and I made my own ranch dressing for the first time! I was always intimidated by making ranch; it seemed like an art that I should not even attempt. But guess what? It’s so easy. I can’t believe it took me this long to find that out!
I am wearing… my favorite cherry chapstick.
I am reading… Reflecting God. It’s so good. Down to earth and simple, yet it has challenged me so much in the last few days.
I am creating… plans for fun with my girls. Apparently our life is very boring…Miss A tells me quite regularly “I want to do something fun“. I’m working on it.
I am hearing… Hombre typing; he’s really fast…it kind of makes me feel dizzy!
Around the house… working on methods to keep things under control all the time instead of the exhausting shiny&clean/filthy&miserable roller coaster we’ve been on the last few months.
A few plans for the rest of the week… dinner with friends, visiting a sweet older couple from church, maybe a girls night… My friend still hasn’t had her baby, so that could be a nice little diversion this week too!
