For Today… December 21,2009
Outside my window… the sun is just peeking over the mountains…at 8:02 am! Shortest day of the year….woo hoo! Only more sunshine from here on out.
I am thinking… so glad I got so much done last week. The pressure was killing me.
From the learning rooms… we are officially on Christmas break. Hoping to thoroughly clean/organize the “learning room” sometime during the break.
I’m thankful for… God’s provision.
From the kitchen… time to make the Christmas cookies!
I am wearing… morning or night…I never seem to be wearing anything but pajamas when I work on this!
I am reading… Philippians…and doing this Bible study. Really good so far!
I am creating… stocking stuffers for my girls. More on that tomorrow…
I am hearing… the hum of the Xbox, because Miss I decided she wanted to turn it on. Just because.
Around the house… trying to get everything to a state of clean that is acceptable for Christmas. Not really hopeful that I’m going to get there.
A few plans for the rest of the week… well, my van died on Saturday evening, so at this point (other than Christmas, of course!) I feel like all of my plans hinge on the diagnosis made at the auto shop this morning. Waiting to hear…

Or leave me a note in the comments… I’d love to hear about your day
I have made it a personal goal to faithfully post on my blog everyday except Sundays. It’s just this thing I need to do…makes me feel like something is being handled well.
Anyway, the last couple of weeks, with all of the Christmas build-up, it’s been really hard to keep up!
I refuse to feel like a failure.
So I’m giving you my list. Of why I didn’t post yesterday (even though I’m thankful!) and I didn’t post today (other than this lame list).
Since Thursday morning I have:
- Completed three days worth of a Nutcracker unit study with my girls
- Addresed and mailed all of my Christmas cards
- Constructed/sewn three mini fabric dollhouses for my girls’ Christmas presents
- run 1.28 miles on my treadmill
- fed three little people about eight different times
- washed & dried two loads of laundry
- read four chapters of a great book
- completed one lesson of the Bible study I’m doing in Philippians
- spent two hours hanging out with some good friends
- took my girls to the practice for their Christmas program at church
- shopped for and made cupcakes for about fifteen kids
- made as many construction paper Christmas cards for a craft project
- fielded emails to sort out where our Show & Tell day/ Birthday Party for Jesus was going to take place
- attended the above activity
- took a shower
- primped my girls for their Christmas program
- did a photo shoot of each girl while they were all primped
- attended Christmas program
- went out to dinner with our neighbor who attended the Christmas program
- welcomed my sister who is visiting from out of state for Christmas
- put my pajamas on and climbed into bed
Wow. When I started typing this list I felt like I really had not accomplished much in the last two days. Maybe I expect too much. I don’t know. Anyway, sorry for falling behind. Please tell me it’s okay….because I need to be realistic and let it be okay.
The Weaver
by Grant Colfax Tullar
My life is but a weaving
betwixt the Lord and me,
I do not choose the color–
He worketh steadily.
Ofttimes He weaveth sorrow
and I in foolish pride,
Forget He sees the upper,
And I the underside.
Not till the loom is silent,
and the shuttle cease to fly
Shall God unroll the canvas
and explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needful
in the Weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
in the pattern He has planned.
He knows, He loves, He cares,
Nothing this truth can dim.
He gives His very best to those
who chose to walk with Him.
