I’ve been so exhausted lately by the end of the day that I just hop into bed and think about what I wanted to post, but don’t have the motivation to even try and formulate the words. Pretty pathetic, huh?
So here’s my catch-up post for the last few days I’ve missed:
Thankful Thursday

I shared a while ago about recieving this sweet letter from a relative of mine.
Aunt Mae was my mom’s aunt; a sweet little old lady who lived all alone in the house she’d spent most of her life in. Her husband died years ago, and she never had children. She really was alone.
I think I met her when I was young, but I don’t even remember. I just know that everytime I thought about her, I felt so sad for her…sitting in that house all by herself.
So I decided the girls and I would write her letters. The girls drew little pictures for her, and we recieved her letter back telling us how much she enjoyed it all.
She had a stroke two weeks later.
She died a couple of days after Thanksgiving.
I don’t know about you, but I have moments almost daily where something comes to mind, some person that I could reach out to or bless or encourage in a tiny little way. But most of the time I’m too busy with my life to really stop and do anything about it.
I’m so thankful that we stopped and wrote letters to Aunt Mae that day. That we were able to bring a little bit of joy into her life before it was over.
So my encouragement to you (and myself!), is when you have those thoughts, forget about your dumb plan for the day and take the time to reach out. You never know when, or if you’ll get the chance again.

God’s timing just amazes me. What a sweet (even though it’s sad) lesson for your girls to learn – the importance of listening to God’s leading, the importance of reaching out to someone in need, the joy we receive when we think of someone else.
