Christmas Traditions~Movies
December 1st, 2009 by Ashley
Okay, we all have our favorites. Some are fun, some are sappy, but honestly I don’t think it would completely feel like Christmas without the Christmas movies.
I really enjoy the comedies. I grew up watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (edited of course). I don’t know that I can recommend that one, but….
Hombre and I can always agree on watching Elf. That’s the only Christmas movie he doesn’t put up a big protest over. And I really love Christmas with the Kranks. I don’t know why. I just do.
Oh, and I always have to watch While You were Sleeping. I don’t know if it technically counts as a Christmas movie, but it is in my house.
But, my ALL TIME, FAVORITE Christmas movie is…..
It’s a Wonderful Life.
I LOVE it! I always have. It’s a little chaotic and random, and stresses me out a bit, but the point is just so good. I always envy George Bailey, getting such an extraordinary dose of perspective on his life. I have to watch it every year.
So it’s your turn. Tell me all about the movies in your life right now. Which piece of Christmas cinema is your favorite?

We watch NL Christmas Vacation also…thanks to my mom =)
My favorite favorite is Meet me in St Louis! Next would have to be White Christmas, then Holiday Inn…I go for the sappy old ones. I think Its a Wonderful Life is a staple in most peoples homes for Christmas, love that one too. Elf is one of our favorites as a family…TJ wont watch my favorites =)

We always watch “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (the cartoon one), the Wonderpets Christmas special, and the Polar Express. I love Christmas time!

Elf and It’s a Wonderful Life are my favs. Nick likes Christmas Story, but I can’t stand it. I also love A Christmas Carol.

We just watched Elf too (is it just me or is that movie getting A LOT of mention in the last week?) And, I know that you’ll just shake your head in dismay, but…I watched Die Hard last night. Because it was Christmassy. Well, it takes place at Christmas. Ok, that probably doesn’t count.

Welllll, how many can I list. Just until this little box is full. I’ll keep it to just a few faves.
~All time favorite~ Prancer!
~Little Women (What’s not to love about this one)
~Miracle on 34th Street (old and new)
~The Holiday (I want Kate Winslet’s cottage in England!)
~Home Alone (a classic)
and dozens of Hallmark and Lifetime cheesy ones. I love them, just can’t help myself.:)

Prancer 2 (Prancer 1 is OK, but the girl is too whiney), and any of the Die Hards that happen at Christmas (love watching bad guys get beat up)
