Christmas Traditions~Movies

December 1, 2009

Okay, we all have our favorites.  Some are fun, some are sappy, but honestly I don’t think it would completely feel like Christmas without the Christmas movies.

I really enjoy the comedies.  I grew up watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (edited of course).  I don’t know that I can recommend that one, but….

Hombre and I can always agree on watching Elf.  That’s the only Christmas movie he doesn’t put up a big protest over.  And I really love Christmas with the Kranks.  I don’t know why.  I just do.

Oh, and I always have to watch While You were Sleeping.  I don’t know if it technically counts as a Christmas movie, but it is in my house.

But, my ALL TIME, FAVORITE Christmas movie is…..

It’s a Wonderful Life.

I LOVE it!  I always have.  It’s a little chaotic and random, and stresses me out a bit, but the point is just so good.  I always envy George Bailey, getting such an extraordinary dose of perspective on his life.  I have to watch it every year.

So  it’s your turn.  Tell me all about the movies in your life right now.  Which piece of Christmas cinema is your favorite?

My favorite favorite is Meet me in St Louis! Next would have to be White Christmas, then Holiday Inn…I go for the sappy old ones. I think Its a Wonderful Life is a staple in most peoples homes for Christmas, love that one too. Elf is one of our favorites as a family…TJ wont watch my favorites =)

We just watched Elf too (is it just me or is that movie getting A LOT of mention in the last week?) And, I know that you’ll just shake your head in dismay, but…I watched Die Hard last night. Because it was Christmassy. Well, it takes place at Christmas. Ok, that probably doesn’t count. :D

Prancer 2 (Prancer 1 is OK, but the girl is too whiney), and any of the Die Hards that happen at Christmas (love watching bad guys get beat up)
