I have lots of things to be thankful for this week of course….but I’m in a hurry this morning, so we’re going to switch things up.
I feel like that girl on Julie & Julia… “is anyone out there? anyone???”
If anyone is there, today is your chance to spread the gratitude and encourage everyone else.
So leave a comment and tell me what you are thankful for this week. I want to rejoice with you.
Don’t be shy. I’m very serious about this. Tell me your thoughts.
This really caught my attention yesterday…
Self-awareness is the first thing that will upset the completeness of our life in God, and self-awareness continually produces a sense of struggling and turmoil in our lives. …it is never God’s will that we should be anything less than absolutely complete in Him. Anything that disturbs our rest in him must be rectified at once , and it is not rectified by being ignored but only by coming to Jesus Christ. If we will come to Him, asking Him to produce Christ-awareness in us, He will always do it, until we learn to fully abide in Him.

He who dwells in the secret place of the most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”
-Psalm 91:1-2

The big girls and I went on a little adventure yesterday.

We set out with one specific destination…and the promise of a surprise to come later in the day.

It was so fun that they were so excited…

After they were such good girls in the store we had to have a little reward.

We drove some more… then stopped for another snack…

What’s a girl’s day without lots of food?

And who can resist the opportunity to enjoy a treat that’s not available at home?

Finally we headed to the place where the girls would get their surprise.

They were very suspicious…
and excited…
Miss A was concerned I was going to make her get on a plane…
but they were both thrilled when we walked in to their surprise…

Auntie Leasha and Princess Darling came for a surprise visit.
(Everyone was expecting them NEXT week, but they decided to come early to make the visit extra long.)
The girls were so happy.
And of course, we had to share the surprise with everyone…

Auntie Ana was very excited when we popped in to see her at work.

And Grammy and Miss I were equally speechless.
Surprises are lots of fun…and very exhausting.

For Today… August 17, 2009
Outside my window… sunny day
I am thinking… my brain is too scattered to think.
From the learning rooms… having lots of fun learning about states. And so far teaching two isn’t much harder than teaching one…I hope it stays that way.
I’m thankful for… friends that make me smile.
From the kitchen… we had amazing “royal” burgers last night (a cheeseburger with bacon and a fried egg
) …I don’t think anything I make for the next few days will be able to compare.
I am wearing… a nightgown that gives me full access to the twenty mosquito bites on my back so I can scratch myself into oblivion.
I am reading… trying to decide what to read…has anyone out there ever read Housekeeping ? That’s our next book club pick, but I haven’t jumped in yet.
I am creating… plans, as usual…trying to line out a series of sewing projects for little hands…anybody have any great suggestions?
I am hearing… Little Bear…. I love Little Bear. And I love that all three of the girls love him.
Around the house… dishes from company last night…I’m making progress in the yard -yay! This time next year our yard will feel like a luxurious escape.
A few plans for the rest of the week… my sister and her family are coming to visit. That will be thrilling. Other than that my week is empty…Hombre is taking a few days off of work for a much needed break…so I will probably just be here…trying not to freak out because my routine is being interrupted.
