Recovering from a late night… here’s your weekend reading. :)

This week’s pattern story  (I don’t know why I’m always so entertained by these)

Write it Down

Someone has to do it

Finally, I’m loving this new blog I’ve been reading: Burning Bushes.   Be sure to check out Dishwasher…Redeemed and 5 ways to check yourself.

Happy Weekend!

Thankful Thursday

So many fun adventures….

the girls’ first airplane ride…

paddling around in a canoe…

a thrilling new playground…

exploring on quads…

     (FYI…those quads are dirty business!)

roasting marshmallows… (nobody cared much for the s’mores…I don’t know what’s wrong with them!)

pretending to be real cowboys and wandering around on horses…

getting this dirty every day within ten minutes of putting on clean clothes… definitely the best part! ;)

(P.S. This “Thursday” post wasn’t actually published until Friday…thanks to some annoying issue with my hosting site…I’m sure you can imagine how little things like that make me feel {{{{crazy}}}}…)

See the Baby!

June 16, 2009

I’ve spent two days sorting pictures from our trip last week.  Totally ridiculous.  Film was much simpler.

Anyway, I decided to start by sharing the only pictures everyone cares about.

One of the main points of our trip was for the girls to meet their new cousin, sweet little Princess Darling.

She was pretty fabulous.

Everyone wanted to hold her.

If they couldn’t hold her they had to kiss her…over and over again.

Bonding over Baby Einstein!

Of course I got my turn too.

Even though she screamed more than she smiled, no one could quite get enough of her.

She is awfully cute. :)

Monday Morning

June 15, 2009

For Today… June 15,2009

Outside my window… sunny and bright.  Really enjoying that after a week in Oregon

I am thinking… so many things to catch up on…what do I do first?

From the learning rooms…I was thinking about having the girls write a “book” about our trip.  Trying to decide the best thing to use for illustrating.

I’m thankful for… a wonderful week away…in my head I keep thinking the word retreat describes it so much better than vacation.

From the kitchen…lots to make. we came home to NO food.  Went grocery shopping yesterday, now I need to get started on granola, yogurt, and something for snacks.

I am reading… Keeping a Quiet Heart  by Elisabeth Elliot.  I love her.  My absolute favorite.  Always makes things so clear.

I am creating… still at work on the b-day gifts.  I’ll share after they’ve all been distributed.

I am hearing… quiet.  But only because I decided to hide in the bathroom ;)

Around the house… I don’t know where to begin…at least the unpacking is done.

A few plans for the rest of the week… dinner with family tonight, followed by a late softball game, summer movies for kids, summer storytime starts at the library this week (yay!) , my book club Friday night…(Finally I’ll get to vent all of my feelings about Alice).

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…

Here’s a sneak peak of the vacay pics.  This is the view of Paulina Valley (part of the 22,000 acre ranch we spent the week at).  We had a blast taking the girls through these mountains on quads.

Looking at the picture now kind of makes me want to bust out some Dixie Chicks…. “Wiiiiiide Open Spaaaacces” :)

Or leave me a note in the comments… I’d love to hear about your day :)
