Thanks to a friend at church, Hombre and I had an exciting date last night.
We started out at Hombre’s favorite restaurant (it was my first time there), with GIANT burritos.

It was really good. And yes, I finished mine. I was really hungry.
After that we were off to a basketball game with some friends.
This was my first time attending an NBA game, and I think I’ve been spoiled.
We had seats in this guy’s luxury box. Pretty fancy.
The view was great.

So, my thoughts on the game: I’ll watch any sport you want me to if the seats are this comfy.
Also, Shaq is seriously a giant. It’s crazy.

Oh, and I have to share this…..for Alisha.

I was really excited to see someone who played for the Suns when I was actually an interested fan.
So, we had a really good time….definitely not your typical night out (or at least not our typical night out).

I always have to have lots of pictures of the two of us when we actually get away…I need proof of the escape, I guess.

For some reason, looking at this picture brought to mind another picture of us, on a different night out…….

here we are (pre-wedding) in 1999!!!! I really can’t believe that was TEN years ago. Kind of freaks me out. It also freaks me out seeing how many lines have appeared in my face since then.
Oh well. It would be boring if we looked exactly the same……right?

For Today… April 13, 2009
Outside my window… the sun is shining BRIGHT, and it feels like the warm weather maybe coming back.
I am thinking… Lots to do today…where should I start?
From the learning rooms… getting back to the normal routine after a week of Easter activity.
I’m thankful for… a really nice holiday spent with family and friends.
From the kitchen… need to do some baking for snacks…maybe carrot bread.
I am wearing… flannel pajama pants and an old maternity cami (great for sleeping in)…thinking it may be warm enough to be done with the flannel soon.
I am reading… How to Have Real Joy by Charles Spurgeon. I’m only a couple of chapters in, but it’s really good. I’m also still reading every other book I’ve mentioned over the last few weeks…This is the first time in my life ever that I’ve been one of those people who is reading a pile of books all at the same time with no concentrated effort towards finishing any of them. I’m not sure how I feel about that.
I am creating… methods of keeping my house more under control. I’m tired of the once a week disaster that takes several days to repair. There’s got to be a better way.
I am hearing… Hombre punching the keys on his laptop. He types really loud.
Around the house… lots of yardwork…that will never end. Starting to think about a garden…not sure if I’m up for it.
A few plans for the rest of the week… maybe this will be the week I finally start painting the kitchen…we’ll see. Other than that no big plans. Staying busy, and (hopefully) be productive.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…
When I want to check on the girls the other night, Miss I wasn’t in her bed….it took me minute to spot her.

Miss A came running into my room this morning…”Mommy it’s Easter Sunday! Jesus rose!”
I’m so blessed by her excitement.
The words of this song keep echoing through my head this morning.
Happy Easter!

Sorry I’ve disappeared the last couple of weeks.
I took a spontaneous trip to see this girl. (pics coming soon)
Then I came home to celebrate this girl’s big day.
And since then it’s been a whirlwind of holiday fun.
I promise I’ll share all of it next week. But for now, I’m feeling terribly guilty for not writing anything awesome for Easter.
So I’ll just point you to all of the awesome things I’ve been reading instead:
First of all, make sure you don’t forget to fill those Easter baskets.
I was blessed by these thoughts on prayer.
Here’s a great reflection on what Easter means.
Another great post, asking why a lamb?
If you don’t have a mile long to-do list (like some of us), here’s a fun little project you could do with the kids today.
Finally, here’s my favorite this week.
Praying you are all so blessed by the love of Jesus as we celebrate His victory over death.
And enjoy your Peeps too!
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:6-8
Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!”
Luke 24:4-6
