Thankful Thursday

It’s spring fever.   That is what the name of it is.
And when you’ve got it, you want – oh,
you don’t quite know what it is you do want,
but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
~Mark Twain

We’ve been enjoying beautiful weather this week.  Absolutely perfect!

Yesterday we joined some friends on a little (well, it was supposed to be little) nature walk around the lake.

It was a lot of fun.  But of course, with six children between our two families, there was plenty of drama as well. ;)

We did have some quiet moments though.

Let children once get in touch with nature,
and a habit is formed which will be a source of delight through life.
~Charlotte Mason

Each of the girls brought along their nature journals and did drawings in pencil, then when we came home they added watercolors.

This is Miss A’s representation of the day.

It was a wonderful time.

But of course, as all things with children go…everyone was a little less than chipper by the end.  :)

For Today… March 16,2009

Outside my window… bright sunshine, blue skies

I am thinking… is it allergies or a cold? …my itching ears are making me lean towards allergies.

From the learning rooms… it’s spring break this week…trying to decide what that should mean for us.

I am thankful for… God’s promises…all things for good!

From the kitchen… I’ve perfected the recipe for homemade vanilla yogurt :)

I am wearing… pajamas, and yesterday’s make-up

I am reading… I’m sure you know…to be honest my reading time has been exceptionally minimal these days.

I am creating… order in my home…though I’m sure it won’t last long.

I am hearing… girls chattering…hombre complaining about the bright sunlight I let in our window…

Around the house… finally getting ahead on the mess…trying to figure out ways to minimize the kids mess…in my mind less stuff would equal less mess, but I don’t know how much more I can get rid of.

A few plans for the rest of the week…  a nature walk with friends, hopefully meeting up with my cousin who I haven’t seen in like ten years.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…

Princess Darling has three days to make an appearance before she is officially late!

Wow, another week has passed already!  Where does the time go?

Again, there is lots of good stuff this week, so be sure to check it all out:

Maybe I’m the only one who needed this, but I was really excited to find these instructions on how to cut a mango.

This story is a kind of humorous, but hombre knows better than to ever try it on me!

I just love this post about no longer being a newlywed.  We just attended a wedding last night (the first I’ve been to in quite awhile), and I think it was the first time since I’ve been married that I didn’t wish a little bit that I could go back to those first days when we were married.  Everything was so new and exciting.  I’ve always missed it a bit…..but somewhere along the way something’s changed….we’ve grown up and grown closer and I just love where God has brought us to…I don’t want to go back anymore. :)

Another post for the married people…how to get through hard times together.  I’m sure we all get our share of opportunities for this.

Finally, I’ve developed quite the aversion to cloudy days this winter.  I NEED my sunlight desperately!  (thank goodness I live in the southwest!)  This post about gray days really spoke to my heart.

Have a great weekend!

Hi…

March 13, 2009

I wish I could tell you that I’ve been SO busy with something really exciting and that’s why you haven’t heard from me all week.

Sorry.

The truth is I’ve only been busy with everyday life…trying to catch up on laundry, trying to take care of school, trying to have clean dishes for a majority of the time; apparently all of this blah stuff can be very time consuming.

I’ll be back with something exciting soon.  Don’t give up on me :)
