Late Night Confessions…
November 1st, 2008 by Ashley
Hombre won’t turn off his video game, so here I am, writing a post at 10 o’clock Saturday night.
Don’t you wish your life was as exciting as mine???
Anyway, I have a couple of confessions for you. As much as I hate to admit these things, I feel it will be better if I know they are out in the open and I don’t have to be afraid of being found out.
So, Number One:
I LOVE this song. I can’t get enough. It makes my heart race with youthful romantic bliss. This is seriously one of the most humiliating things I’ve ever shared, but honestly, I really do love it.
And, Number Two:
The men’s underwear section in Wal-Mart scares me.
I’m sorry if this is too graphic for my unmarried readers, but I need to tell someone this, mostly in the hopes that one of you will tell me you can relate so I won’t feel like I am permanantly stuck with the mind of a gawky twelve year old.
I had to make a purchase in this department the other day, but first I had a phone call. I was already in the department when the phone call began, so I was stuck there, on the phone, facing a WALL of half dressed {shudder} men in all manner of boxers and briefs, SMILING. AT. ME.
I wanted to cry.
Instead I decided to act like a real grown up woman….. and look the other direction.
It was like something out of a movie. I turned to look the opposite way and was staring straight into a display of even MORE horrendous indecent men (nothing that is marketed for men should have the word bikini on it, thank you very much!).
If anyone was watching I’m sure they had a great laugh because I seriously JUMPED, I was so startled by this freakish display. I’m convinced it wouldn’t be half as bad if the men weren’t standing there all posed so proudly, smiling at me, staring me in the eyes. Honestly I was feeling a little faint.
But I had to finish what I came for. And first I had to finish the blasted phone call.
So what did I do?
What any mature woman would: I stared at the floor.
Can anyone relate? Anyone?

Is it really the song you love, or the very Jane Austen-ish video?
Either way…cute song and video. Only comment on the men’s
department…I hope is wasn’t me calling!

I like Taylor Swift (and most of the other young country acts out there….shhhh…don’t tell ANYONE! It’s totally secret… ;o) ) The men’s department is a very scary place. What are you supposed to do, stare back? Pretend you don’t notice? Not to mention, how are you supposed to carry such a purchase? If you put it in your cart, he stares at you the rest of your shoping trip, but if you carry it, you are soon faced with the whole “where do I place my hands” quandry. Our husbands have no idea what we go through for them =)

I totally relate! I HATE going to the mens undies department! All those half naked (really mostly naked if your talking about the bikini undies) staring at you, and you’re right, they are smiling at you huh?! Anyways, dont feel silly!
That song (and video) are really sweet!
