Today I am thankful for…..

The fabulous weather we have been having.  If I can just get past my need for winter to come, it’s actually been really nice around here.

Three little girls running excitedly to welcome me home…after I’ve been gone all of about three hours!  I know that they won’t always be so thrilled to see me, so I’m really trying to enjoy it.

The anticipation of Christmas….AND the fact that Halloween will be over tommorrow so I won’t have to look at all of that ugly stuff in the stores anymore.

Old fashioned lemon drops… I love those things.

The opportunity to witness an amazing miracle…and knowing that God is being glorified through it.

Most of all, I’m learning to be thankful when things get uncomfortable, when things don’t go my way and when I’m forced to face my own abundant flaws.  I’m learning that I can only grow if I choose to recognize my own weakness, that I can only change if I choose to recognize my own inability to do anything good.  I can only be all that I’m called to be if I believe that nothing is about me. 

I’m so thankful that I am learning, that God keeps teaching me, and that He will keep teaching me every day if I allow Him to.  Because in the midst of all the discomfort I’m finding the joy of real peace.
